How is a consultation with you different than other color analysis providers?

I provide color consultations independent of any parent company- where the main goal is not to push you to buy their makeup products, but to provide personalized advice and takeaways that you will actually use in your everyday life. I use the industry-standard 12-type seasonal color system with recognizable sub-season names that make it easy for you to do additional web searches after your appointment to explore your sub season more if you wish. Virtual color analysis services and AI tools can be fun starting points, but are often flawed with inconsistent lighting and draping color availability. In-person draping under controlled professional lighting is the best and true way to discover your seasonal color palette.

Where do color consultations take place?

Color consultations take place in Megan’s Fremont Seattle color studio, located inside the Fremont Space Building in downtown Fremont. Detailed instructions about location, parking, and access are emailed after booking an appointment. After your appointment stay in the area and enjoy the many awesome restaurants and shops nearby!

How do I prepare for my color analysis appointment?

It is best to arrive to your appointment on time, face free of makeup, hair tied back or pinned away from the face, and without artificial tanning applied. For optimal draping results, avoid wearing bright tops, chunky or restrictive necklines. All of these factors help aid in the color analysis draping process to be able to accurately evaluate your facial features and the nuances that change with different color draping fabrics. If you have a fake tan, please wait a week or until it has fully faded before booking an appointment.

Can I bring a friend or family member to watch during my appointment?

Megan’s Fremont color studio space can accommodate a client and one adult guest comfortably, but for groups of 3 or more please use the Contact form to reach out for off-site/ travel sessions. Color Analysis consultations can be performed mobile in the comfort of your home (located within 50 miles of Seattle), assuming adequate clear floor space and power access. What if I don’t like my color season?

The goal for every color analysis consultation is to find the key colors that harmonize best for you. Naturally, everyone has favorites and preconceived ideas about colors (including some that may need to be reevaluated!). I invite you to come to your color analysis appointment with an open mind and a genuine desire to learn about yourself. It is possible that your color sub season- while bringing out your natural beauty- might include colors that you don’t like. I urge everyone to recognize that every palette is beautiful in its uniqueness, and with this new discovery you might feel inclined to give any previously-disliked colors a new chance. You can eventually learn to embrace them and what they do for your appearance and confidence!
